I really identified with Lilo when Lilo and Stitch first came out (as a young kid who was weird or outcast). Here’s her being like a  young me, being bored while her hair is being done by a grown up.

Just felt nostalgic today. There were other aliens in my life, once upon a time. kindler, gentler aliens. Ish.

This is absolutely precious! What a wonderful piece, love it! (love the little detail of the bobby pin in Pleakely’s mouth!) :)

Lilo is Late for Hula Class

Andreas Dejà made these genius sketches for Lilo as she is running late for her class, but cannot help herself to take a few shots of sun burnt overweight tourists at the beach. She is quite the character isn’t she?

One thing that is also very worth of noticing, is the fact that she is always smiling. Dejà even jokes that once he was with Roy Disney’s wife Patty, and she asked him a question after a screening: “She never really closes her mouth in the film, does she?” I guess Patty wasn’t used to seeing an animated character with a broad smile like this one, he joked.

Lilo: This is Pudge! He’s my other best friend. [kisses Pudge] He has a peanut butter belly. Here, now you kiss him.

[Stitch shoves Pudge away]

Lilo: Why did you do that?!

[Birds attack Pudge, prompting Lilo to run and protect him]

Lilo: Stitch, help! Stitch, help me!

[Stitch laughs until the birds leave]

Lilo: [punches Stitch] What’s wrong with you?! Pudge was part of our family! You don’t let your family die—you don’t ever!

[Lilo goes to bury Pudge]

Lilo: I needed you.

[Stitch follows and sees her parents’ graves]

Lilo: [putting flowers on Pudge’s grave] My mom sent some decoration for us.

[Stitch walks away to break down]

Lilo: Stitch? [puts a flower on his head] You didn’t do it on purpose, did you?
